We are looking for an experienced person to assist with processing of new life insurance business, claims, management of work flow and feedback to clients. The successful candidate will report to financial advisors daily.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as competency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of various life insurance products and structures.
  • Proficiency in quotation packages.
  • Summarising the options.
  • Basic preparation of presentation.
  • Preparing application forms with clients.
  • Set up medical appointments with clients
  • Finalising FAIS documentation with clients.
  • Set up yearly feedback reports.
  • Assist clients with complete claims process.
  • Assist clients with Multiply and Vitality status.
  • Assisting colleagues with administrative tasks.
  • Performing ad-hoc administrative duties.
  • At least two years’ experience in life insurance
  • Must be proficient with life insurance quotation systems
  • Grade 12
  • Telephone skills
  • Consistent, professional dress and manner
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office & Outlook)
  • Fluently bilingual (Afrikaans & English) – Speak, read & write
  • General admin experience
  • Good time management skills
  • Presentable and neat appearance

Job Specifications:
  • Provide technical underwriting and rating advice and acceptance of risk to internal stakeholders across all classes of insurance business
  • Conduct competitor and market intelligence analysis
  • Provide support with referral risk, unique risk undefined or mandates
  • Interpret and process technical information
  • Remain abreast of local developments on all classes of business and advise Operational Manager of changes to be made
  • Analyse profitability of multi-claimant or renewal individual policies and process corrective actions necessary on system
  • Analyse profitability with underwriting and broker consultants, agree and implement actions
  • Provide input i.r.o amendments to pricing models and new cover to the Operational Manager
  • Request and recommend changes to technical policy, endorsements and policy wording, underwriting manuals and underwriting rules
  • Do analysis on specific portfolios
  • Analyse trends, performance and recommend actions and process it on systems
  • Determine underwriting needs and arrange for these to be developed
  • Execute new strategic initiatives as identified by management
  • Provide support to queries i.r.o existing policies – claims, increased cover add-ons, interpretation of wording and cover renewals and survey reports
  • Refer unresolved and persistent underwriting issues to Management
  • Responsible for renewal recommendations, the processing thereof and the compiling of all communication to brokers and end-user clients
  • Designate for manager when manager on leave
  • Matric certificate
  • RE1 or RE5
  • Minimum COP or Insurance related qualification
  • FAIS Compliance: 60 credits Commercial Lines and 30 credits Personal Lines
  • Bilingual (English & Afrikaans)
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft office & must be able to do system processing
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry
  • Solid knowledge of underwriting and underwriting processes
Salary: Negotiable according to experience
